Adam Chen

Specsavers Optometrist, ECO Advisory Committee Member

Adam currently works as an optometrist at Specsavers Craigieburn in Victoria. His journey with Specsavers began back in 2018 as an optical assistant. After completing his studies at the University of Melbourne in 2020, Adam transitioned to his current role as part of the Craigieburn team.

This year, Adam joined the Specsavers ECO (Early Career Optometrists) Advisory Committee, along with 5 other committee members to advocate for the clinical and career development opportunities of their fellow optometry colleagues. As an ECO development opportunity, Adam volunteered to present an on-demand self-guided interactive case-based session as part of this year's SCC.

The Early Career Optometry (ECO) program was launched in February 2023 for third-year optometrists, those who have recently finished the Graduate Program. The ECO program is a 2-year program that provides optometrists with opportunities to undertake external clinical courses aimed at enhancing their clinical skills, as well as explore non-clinical avenues of personal and professional development.
