Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is an important way for you to maintain and improve your knowledge and skills, enabling you to be a safer and more effective optometrist.
This year’s SCC offers both an in-person and virtual program on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September as well as a range of additional on-demand CPD content.
If you are non-Specsavers employed optometrist, all CPD certificates will be emailed to you.
All approved presentations will be recorded and available on the SCC Virtual platform exclusively to delegates until 31 December 2024. Please allow 8 business days post-conference for recorded content to appear on the SCC Virtual platform.
Yes. If you are watching the conference with others, please make sure you log in from your own registered account for CPD recording and to participate in the interactive sessions. The platform will only record CPD for the delegate account which is logged onto the SCC event platform.
There will be up to 20 CPD hours on offer across the live and on-demand program. Go to the Program link to find the daily program and CPD allocation.

This year all interactive CPD sessions will be via Interactive Polling on the SCC online event platform.
No. You must watch the presentation live in person or online to participate and receive interactive CPD hours. You can still watch the recording of the session for CPD hours, but will be unable to claim interactive CPD hours.
If you attend any live sessions on Saturday 14 or Sunday 15 and are a Specsavers employed optometrist, your attendance will be uploaded to your MyCPD Training Record after the conference weekend. Please allow 8 business days post attendance to view your CPD certificate. If you are a non-Specsavers employed optometrist, your attendance will be emailed to you.
No. If you are a Specsavers employed optometrist, your CPD certificate of completion will appear automatically in your MyCPD portal Training Record. If you are not a Specsavers employed optometrist, your CPD certificate will be emailed to you. Please allow 8 business days post attendance to view your CPD certificate. From there you can download a copy of your certificate and upload it to your OA account.
All SCC on-demand content will be made available from Tuesday 17 September on the Virtual Event Platform. All delegates will receive an email with their individual login details to the SCC Virtual Event Platform for early access to the on-demand sessions ahead of the conference weekend.
Following the conclusion of the conference all the on-demand sessions will be available for delegates to access from their Specsavers MyCPD portal account under “Online Courses”.
No. It is not a requirement to complete any assessments, but they will assist you in gaining more CPD hours e.g. upon successfully answering at least 50% of each assessment correctly, you will be awarded extra hours of CPD in addition to the time spent viewing the presentation. You can attempt the questions as many times as you like. Assessment questions are only available to delegates who attend the live sessions on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September. Assessments will close at 11:59pm AEST Wednesday 18 September.
To complete the assessment, click onto the MCQ link next to each presentation. Once you have passed the assessment, your certificate will be available to download. However, if you are Specsavers employed optometrist, your CPD certificate will also be automatically uploaded to your MyCPD Training Record 8 business days post-conference. The assessment questions will be available on the SCC online platform from Saturday 14, Day 1 of the conference.
The assessment questions will be available on the MCQ link next to each presentation until 11:59pm AEST Wednesday 18 September.

If you are a Specsavers employed optometrist, you will find a copy of your CPD certificate of attendance in your MyCPD portal Training Record. If you are a non-Specsavers employed optometrist, your CPD certificate of attendance will be emailed to you.
No, if you attend SCC in person, virtually or watch a recording of the session, it is not an ODOB requirement to complete Multiple-Choice Questions.
If you are Specsavers employed optometrist, you will find a copy of your CPD certificate of attendance in your MyCPD Training Record for you to download and print. This will be automatically uploaded to your MyCPD Training Record record 8 business days following the conference.
If you are a non-Specsavers employed optometrist, your CPD certificate of attendance will be emailed to you.
